You need to be everywhere on social media and you’ve got to be on all the platforms. You want to be on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Medium, Tumblr, LinkedIn and Snapchat.

There are 8 platforms I just said that you need to be on. Social media is a free tool and the only way that you actually pay is with your time. If you’re a service provider, I recommend you to get someone else to do it for you so that you wouldn’t spend your time doing it. Either get someone to do it for you in house or ask us because that’s what we do in the agency.

The bottom line is: if you’re not on social media, you don’t exist. I know there’s probably some people watching this saying, “I don’t’ have a Facebook page but my business is fine”. What I would say to them is, “Sure, it’s fine but how is it going to be 5 years from now?”

Social media is a long term player. If you start doing social media now, you’ll see the results in 6 months, a year or maybe 2 or 3 years from now and that’s when you’ll destroy everything on social media but if you start within the next 5 years, it’s going to be too late. Understand that social media is a long term play and you need to get going NOW. You also need to have a publishing calendar and an editorial calendar where you’re publishing stuff consistently on all of these platforms.
